Skinny Tea

Senna- Senna tea is primarily known for its laxative properties and is often used to relieve constipation. It works by stimulating the muscles in the intestines, which helps to promote bowel movements. While it can be effective for short-term relief of constipation. Senna has an astringent toning effect on the digestive system and also effectively cleans the elimination system.

Buckthorn Bark- Buckthorn Bark helps empty your bowels by stimulating the flow of bile from the liver to the gall bladder. It is a bitter herb which expels impurities and has a calming effect on the gastrointestinal tract.

Peppermint- Peppermint makes a stimulating tea, aids in digestion and helps with symptoms of IBS. It is an energizer oxygenating the bloodstream and encouraging digestive fluid production. Peppermint is used for almost every digestive, colon cleansing and bowel combination, to control gar, flatulence, nausea, diarrhea, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.

Uva Ursi- Uva ursi is most commonly recognized for its use in treating UTIs. It’s believed to help by reducing bacteria in the urine and increasing urine flow. The active component, arbutin, converts to hydroquinone, which has antibacterial properties, particularly effective in alkaline urine. Uva ursi acts as a diuretic, helping to increase urine flow and flush the urinary system. Uva Ursi is considered a digestive stimulant. Some sources suggest uva ursi may have anti-inflammatory properties, potentially aiding in reducing swelling and inflammation. Uva ursi contains antioxidants that can help combat free radicals and protect against cell damage. These antioxidants may also contribute to skin health and a youthful appearance.

Chickweed- The mucilage content, known as a demulcent, help heal stomach ulcers, inflamed bowels, lungs and most any inflammation whether internal or external. Chickweed moistens phlegm and aids in its expectoration from the lungs, while relieving sore throats, lowering fever and treating stomach and duodenal ulcers. It will work to move plaque out of blood vessels and eliminates fatty substances in the system. It also strengthens the tissue lining of the stomach and the intestines. And most importantly has been used to break down cellulite.

Rosehips– came onto the stage as a therapeutic entity back in World War II, as a Vitamin C syrup, to prevent scurvy. Still to this day, Rose Hips is still one of the richest sources available today of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is beneficial for common diseases we have today like cold, flu, and pneumonia. Rosehips are beneficial for hair health, like adding strength to your hair and scalp nourishment. Rosehip taken after surgery can help reduce pain. The fiber content in rose hips can promote healthy digestion and regular bowel movements. Some research suggests that rosehip tea can help soothe stomach disorders and aid in digestion.

Marshmallow Root- Marshmallow root is very soothing for any sore or inflamed part of the body. Great for any poultice due to its ability to draw out and absorb moisture. Marshmallow is a mucilaginous calcium-rich herb and can be used to soothe and heal mucous membranes such as the lungs, digestive tract and bowel. It works as natural fiber to regulate bowel activity and increase colonic flora. Rich in vitamin A and is great for assisting in the release of kidney stones.

Chamomille-It aids in digestion and bowel problems. It is invigorating and strengthening to the body and soothing tonic which is sedative in nature and used for nerves. It may help lower blood sugar levels in some individuals.

Yerba Mate- Yerba Mate boosts energy, it contains caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline, which provide a natural energy boost. Yerba Mate improves focus and concentration and may enhance cognitive function. Supports Weight Management, may suppress appetite and increase metabolism due to its caffeine content.
